Sicherstellen das wir die neuste version von iTunes installiert haben, wenn nicht updaten und neustarten.

Einen Ordner auf dem Desktop erstellen und darin die Firmware 3.0 sowie RedSn0w 0.8 entpacken.

RedSn0w starten und die Firmware 3.0 auswählen. RedSn0w wird nun die Firmware prüfen und hoffentlich mit einem freundlichen “successfully identified” antworten. Danach auf Next klicken.

RedSn0w sollte nun mit der arbeit beginnen und nach ein paar Minuten fragen was installiert werden soll. Hier sollte zunächst nur Cydia installiert werden. Klick Next

Nun müssen wir das iPHone 3GS / iPhone 3G in den 'Recovery mode' bringen.

RedSn0w wird dann das iPhone 3GS / iPhone 3G im 'Recovery mode' erkennen und den jailbreak installieren. Das kann ein paar Minuten dauern.

Wenn RedSn0w fertig ist wird das iPhone 3GS / iPhone 3G automatisch neu gestartet. Nach dem Neustart ist der jailbreak installiert und Ihr könnt wie weitere Apps via Cydia installieren.

Vorausgesetzt wird ein Windowsrechner mit XP oder Vista (Windows Sieben wird nicht supportet) und iTunes 8. Ein Jailbreak für den Mac kommt etwas später, dürfte aber die gleichen Schritte haben.

Ladet euch purplerain.exe von purplera1n.com
iPhone 3GS mit OS 3.0 an den Rechner anschließen
Programm starten und auf „make it ra1n“ klicken
iPhone neu starten und fertig

Probleme?

Wenn es Probleme gibt, dann liegt es ggf. daran, dass das Programm für ein englisches Betriebsystem ausgelegt ist. Um dieses Problem zu lösen, müsst ihr folgende Schritte befolgen:

unter Windows Vista

Vista: iTunesMobileDevices.dll Datei von „C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin“ nach „C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin“ kopieren.

unter Windows XP

In XP: iTunesMobileDevice.dll Datei von „C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin“ nach „C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin“ kopieren.

redsn0w zip file entpacken
iPhone, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G oder iPod touch 2G am Computer anschliessen und synchronisieren
iTunes schliessen
mittels „Start / Ausführen / CMD.exe“ eine Eingabeaufforderung (command prompt) starten
in das Verzeichnis wechseln wo Ihr RedSn0w entpackt habt (z.B. „cd c:\temp“)
redsn0w starten „redsn0w iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw“

Dann solltet Ihr folgende Ausgabe sehen:
